Kit List

Listed below are the items your child will need to bring for the camp.

Please bring old clothes and shoes where possible as we cannot be held responsible for damage to clothing during activities. All clothing needs to be clearly marked with your child’s name.

This list is just intended as a guide, and you might like to pack extras, especially warm clothing. Please do not worry if you do not have certain items like sleeping bags or boots, we have equipment they will be able to borrow.

Kit List:

  • 7 Tops or T-shirts
  • 4 Pairs of trousers (preferably tracksuit bottoms or combat style, e.g. no jeans)
  • 1 Pairs of shorts
  • 3 Warm tops (jumper or fleece, it will be chilly camping out at night)
  • 2 Pairs of trainers (This is important. There should be at least one old pair that can get wet/muddy)
  • Underwear and socks (lots of pairs of socks as these tend to get very wet or lost!)
  • Suitable nightwear for cold nights
  • Wash kit including sun screen
  • 2 or 3 Towels
  • 1 Sun hat (this is really important, a baseball cap is ideal)
  • 1 Lightweight waterproof jacket (if not bring another warm top or jacket)

Additional Kit:

  • 1 Torch (if they have one)
  • 1 Sleeping bag (if you have one, otherwise these can be supplied)
  • 4 Large bin liners (for wet clothing)

They are also welcome to bring walking boots if they have them, but again these can easily be borrowed.

Pocket Money: PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD WITH ANY MORE THAN £5. There are no shops available to the children during the camp, apart from travel stops on the journey, so it is not necessary.

Please note: NO MOBILE PHONES, MP3 PLAYERS OR ELECTRONIC GAMES ARE ALLOWED AT CAMP. This is really important - any child who takes either will have them confiscated for the duration of the camp. The Mitchemp Trust can not take responsibility for any such items.

Please contact Tessa Woodrow  on 07813 771551 if you wish to discuss any of the above.
