Challenge Events

Our fundraising events are designed to provide personal challenge and team building experiences whilst raising money to improve the lives vulnerable young people. You’ll be giving them the chance to develop themselves and make the most of their potential.

Invesco Perpetual Highland Adventure Race - 11th & 12th September 2010

Racers will start at sea level in Inverness on the east coast of Scotland and will travel by bike, foot and kayak the entire length of the Great Glen, which stretches over 100km, in just 24 hours. The final challenge will involve a traverse of Ben Nevis, reaching the highest point in the UK before descending to the finish in Fort William on the west coast.  This epic journey will involve teams navigating their way through the Great Glen, setting up a wilderness overnight camp and many other sub challenges along the way. 

Race facts:

  • 24 hours duration
  • Sea level to the highest point in the UK
  • Over 100km
  • 5000ft of ascent
  • East coast to West coast of Scotland from sea to sea.
  • Travel the full length of the Great Glen
  • Travel the length of the Caledonian Canal including Loch Ness, Loch Oich, Loch Lochy

The Brecon 10 Peaks Challenge - Saturday 20th February 2010

Your team of four walkers will climb 10 of the highest mountains in the Brecon Beacons within 10 hours and raise £1000 for the Mitchemp Trust’s work with vulnerable young people.

This will require good planning, preparation and sheer determination. You will be given a great deal of support along the way from experienced fundraisers to expert mountain guides.

This exciting team challenge will not only test your ability to work together effectively but also present you with many personal challenges along the way.

24 Peaks Challenge - 19th & 20th June 2010

Your team of seven walkers will climb 24 peaks within 24 hours in support of the Mitchemp Trust. This challenge, based in the Lake District, will require good planning, preparation and sheer determination. You will be given a great deal of support along the way from experienced event managers to expert mountain guides. This exciting team challenge will not only test your ability to work together effectively but also present you with many personal challenges along the way.

Baffin Island Expedition – March 2011

Baffin Island is an arctic wilderness of jagged mountain peaks, deep valleys, steep walled fjords and eternal glacial ice. Located above the Arctic Circle, this powerful landscape reflects the Inuit belief that time is infinite and unending. Walking and skiing through the Auyuittuup Park we will explore this remarkable environment and experience the majesty of the Arctic.

A team of up to 12 will attempt a ski traverse of the Akshauk Pass which involves travelling over 140 miles through remote and challenging terrain in temperatures as low as -20 C.

Three Peaks Challenge - 24th & 25th July 2010

Your team of seven walkers will climb the three highest mountains in the UK - Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon - within 24 hours and raise £5000 for the Mitchemp Trust. This will require good planning, preparation and sheer determination. You will be given a great deal of support along the way from experienced fundraisers to expert mountain guides. This exciting team challenge will not only test your ability to work together effectively but also present you with many personal challenges along the way.
